VOID EXPANSION
December 2019
“Void Expansion” is a decorative wall panel for a boutique residential space. It has modernist traits in its modularity and neutral or perhaps more precisely, its colorless nature. Doing so highlights the light qualities, creating spatial depth and illusion, adding another dimension into what was a static wall. Therefore, the wall becomes something dynamic and an active participant in creating a moment/atmosphere.

Inspiration
Erwin Hauer’s minimalist wall systems inspired this project. Rather than casting the whole wall, a pegboard system was considered for each module to be fixed on a surface seamlessly. Creating a module that continuously flows with the adjacent one while having depth/curvature to create beautiful lighting effects was important.
